Golf Club

Picnic Point Golf Club is a social group of players, like many golfing clubs we play at a variety of courses both local and abroad.

The club plays twelve events per year on Sunday mornings once a month, followed by lunch and drinks at the club where we hold our presentations. We have many competitions inside the club such as Stableford, Stroke Events, Matchplay and Club Championship. Our schedule of events and booking sheet is on the Notice Board at Club Picnic Point.

At the end of the year we host our members to a Presentation Luncheon & Christmas Raffle.

New members, of all standards, are always welcome with an Annual Membership Fee of $10 and match fees of $50 each game, which includes lunch.

We also have a Wednesday social competition available, please check the Golf Club board located in the TAB area for updated information.

The Picnic Point Fishing Club

The Picnic Point Fishing Club is a group of fun-loving anglers of all ages, sexes and skill levels who love to get together over a few ales or fruits of the vine to fish and discuss ‘the ones that got away’. As our motto cheekily puts it, we are ‘The friendly club where there are no catches for members’.

We are  always eager to take on board new members. There is no joining fee. Annual membership is $20 for individuals and $30 for families (including kids up to eighteen). Most years members get more than that back at the annual Christmas Party!

We fish twice a month in February, March, October, and November, and once in January, April, May, September, and December. We give the fish population a break in June, July, and August. We fish estuaries, bays, and ocean beaches – no outside, rock or freshwater fishing. Some of our members have boats, some do not. You can fish from shore or ‘volunteer’ to be shanghaied by one of our captains!

Before the COVID pandemic struck in 2020 we ran a weekly raffle at Club Picnic Point on Friday evenings, drawn at 8pm. We are hoping to resume these raffles very soon. They help to fund or events and other promotions, including:

  • Annual Christmas party with plenty of tucker, drink vouchers and pressies.
  • Annual club championship and fishing-day prizes totalling circa $2,000.
  • The notorious Como pontoon day. Avast ye maties!
  • Subsidised (50%) hire of boats on competition days.
  • Subsidised October fishing weekend away at locations such as Teagardens (Port Stephens) and Sussex Inlet.
  • Subsidised range of club apparel.
